HBA Course Enrolment support
Our Hairdressing, Beauty and Aesthetics courses are all funded by the Advanced Learner Loan.
On this page, we will share information and links to help you get enrolled.
Click here to view the government guidance on Advanced Learner Loans, eligibility and repayments.
We recommend you take a look at this information before completing your application, so that you can be reassured that the information we have given is accurate, and most importantly, suits you and your planned learning.
Loan Repayments
How much you repay
How much you repay depends on your income - the amount you earn (including things like bonuses and overtime) before tax and other deductions.
You’ll repay a percentage of your income over the ‘threshold’ for your type of loan, depending on how often you get paid.
Click here to check your repayment plan
The thresholds are different for each plan type
You will need your Learning and Funding Information Letter. This will have been sent to your email address. If you haven't seen it, please check your junk/spam, and ensure you have this and have read it thoroughly prior to starting your application.
On this letter, it explains all of the information that you need to know before applying for your course. It has important dates that MUST MATCH your application. Please do not try to remember these dates - ensure you refer back to your Learning and Funding Information Letter to ensure they are accurate otherwise it may result in changes needing to be made to your application.
Before you start, please ensure you have the following:
Asked all questions, and cleared up any outstanding queries that you have regarding your course
Have a valid, in date passport, OR have an original copy of your birth certificate.
Access to your Learning and Funding Information Letter

If you need to apply for a copy of your birth certificate, you can apply using this link.

Complete your enrolment form with your most up to date information. We will use this to register you on your course, so please make sure spellings and information is accurate.
Advanced Learner Loan Application
Now that you have completed your enrolment form, you can apply for your advanced learner loan with the Student Loan Company.
Again, you will need to use your Learning and Funding Information Letter. The dates on your application must match your Learning and Funding Information Letter.
If you have used an original copy of a birth certificate, you must hand this to your training provider, or send it off as soon as possible, as you will not be able to start your course until this has been received and approved by the Student Loan Company. We recommend that you send this using a tracked service, and that you keep the tracking number safe.

Confirmation and completion of induction and enrolment
Now that you have completed your enrolment and application, visit Google Classroom to complete the remainder of your enrolment.
You may still have questions that you would like to ask afterwards, and that is fine - you can continue to do so throughout your course!
While you wait to start your course, please visit the next lesson in your introduction pathway and complete the Safeguarding online courses - these are mandatory, and if they are not completed, your tutor will ask you to complete these during your first session.
Please also look out for an email from SKILLS FORWARD. This is a maths and English online assessment. This is required for us to be able to suitably plan your programme. Again, this is so that we can support you, but is not to screen if you are eligible. Please ensure you answer these questions to the best of your ability.
We hope you enjoy your course!
Complete your Individual Training Plan (ITP)
Please work with your tutor, or learning advisor to complete your Individual Learning Plan (ILP).
This gives the team information about you, to be able to contact you and plan meaningful lessons in line with your targets and individual needs.
This is a mandatory document.
Any additional forms and tasks will be added to your google classroom as required!
